Corbett Society

Supporting the work of the Riverdale School Foundation through long-term planning

What is the Corbett Society?

For many generations, the Corbett family served as dedicated community leaders and frequent hosts, and their legacy continues to inspire us. Going back over a hundred years, Elliott R. Corbett, Lucy J. Corbett, and nine others, signed the petition in April 1919 to acquire a site and build a new school building, where Riverdale Grade School sits today. Before that, Helen Ladd Corbett housed the school in her own home for a period of time when students had outgrown their space. And in the 1950's, Mrs. Henry Corbett chaired the PTC. Many Corbett descendants attended Riverdale Grade School and its precursor throughout the 20th century. This Riverdale education inspired some Corbetts to go on to become professors and educators. That passion for a Riverdale education is shared by those who name Riverdale School Foundation in their estates or support the work of the Foundation through long-term planning.
